Ellen is the founder and CEO of Hedley & Bennett, an apron and workwear company, whose signature ampersand logo can be seen on top chefs around the world. Born and raised in LA to a Mexican mother and English father, she felt a strong connection to Mexico and ended up moving there when she was 18. Today we talked about what she learned being a 24-year-old line cook who told her head chef she could make the restaurant aprons. Soon she had a company. We talk about what she learned from her grandmother in Mexico about treating everyone with care, as well as productivity, process, time management, and Ellen gives the best dinner party hosting advice I’ve ever heard.
